Starting out as "Venereal Disease" in Falkenberg, Sweden in 1991, they found
their influence from the likes of Hard-Ons, Gang Green and Bad Religion. The
band then released two demo's, (92's) "From Beer To Eternity" and (93's)
"The Second Cuming of Venereal Disease".
Before finding their home on a German label, and re-releasing their (95) EP
"Shake Your Booty" and (96) EP "Swollen" the band changed their name to, a
more simplified, "VENEREA".
In 1997, they released their first official full length titled "Both Ends
Burning" but after only a year of being released their label went bankrupt.
However, VENEREA pressed on to release their 2nd full length in '2000,
titled "Losing Weght, Gaining Ground" and (03's) "Out In The Red", which has
sold more than 15,000 copies in Europe.
Since then, VENEREA has headlined tours with the likes of Ten Foot Pole,
done stints on the VANS OFF THE WALL tour and played numerous shows with
fellow Swedes Millencolin and Satanic Surfers.
The present shows VENEREA among the leaders of the Swedish punk scene and
they are currently a staple force on "Bad Taste Records" (along with Satanic
Surfers).
Joining the Pizza Of Death roster in 2005, their 4th full length effort,
titled "One Louder", shows the band stretching out of Europe and gaining
world-wide interest and popularity.
With their melodic hardcore style and edgy anthems, VENEREA proves they are
among the finest.
