The second Swedish act to join the Pizza of Death roster, Satanic Surfers!
The veteran quintet is no stranger to anyone, however a bit of history:
Formed in 1989 by vocalist Rodrigo, (though at the time was the drummer)
the band went through a few lineup changes during it's first few years
before making their first recording, the self released "SKATE TO HELL" Ep
in 1993.
BAD TASTE RECORDS re-released the Ep in '94 and later the same year saw the
band sign to BURNING HEART RECORDS for their 2nd official Ep release "Keep
Out".
In '95, before recording their debut full length "Hero Of Our Time" for
Burning Heart Records, Rodrigo took over full vocal duties while still
maintaining as the band's drummer. This was the line-up which would remain
through the band's most recognized years '95 - '99, while they continued to
release '97's "666 Motor Inn" and '99's "Going Nowhere Fast" all through
the Burnng Heart Label.
In 2000 the band left Burning Heart and returned, once again, to Bad Taste
Records to release the "Fragments and Fractions" full length. 2002 brought
about another release through Bad Taste, "Unconsciously Confined", as well
saw Rodrigo step out from the drum kit to focus solely on vocal
responsibilities.
Fast-forwarding to present day: SATANIC SURDERS are still a viable concern
as they return with their 6th official full length "Taste The Poison", with
PIZZA OF DEATH RECORDS picking up the Japanese Edition! We also had the
privalege this year (2006) of bringing over Satanic Surfers, along with
label mates Venerea, to Japan for the Punk Rockers Bowl Tour.
So what can you expect from "Taste The Poison"? Their most polished record
to date, yet finaly a recording presented and brought forth with the
aggression and intensity of their live set. And, as always, with the
signature melodic and powerful vocals Satanic Surfers is known for in tact.
