In february 2002, Shinobu Watanabe (Vo&Gt from CAPTAIN HEDGE HOG),
Junichirou Yamashita (Ba&Cho from NICE MARBLES), Masakazu Ichinose (Dr&Cho
from POPCATCHER) got together for their own project in Yokohama. They self-
released their first album titled "Tiger Style" later the same year. Each
member of ASPARAGUS has their own sense of style and originality. Each
member is strongly talented and rich with ideas in their own department and
the song-writing never falls on any one individual, yet it is a collective
task, and one which ASPARAGUS executes beutifuly as a collective unit.
In 2004, ASPARAGUS did the unthinkable as a follow up to their first full
length release. They released their 2nd AND 3rd album on the same day, and
on two different lables. Their second album, "KAPPA I", was released on
their home label, 3P3B Records. The third release, "KAPPA II", is proudly
released on the Pizza of Death label. Triple-time melodies, ensemble tunes
and impressive guitar refrains, the "KAPPA Albums" show enormous growth of
the band since their first release. An excellent portrayal of their hard
work, rich ideas, thought out guitar patterns and incredibly high level
playing, from each player, of this incredible 3 piece.
